HP Daily Blog – Candidate for HP’s Highest Honor?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

The 2010 HP Humanitarian award is up for grabs and …well…HP Daily Blog isn’t the boastful sort, but 2010 Humanitarian Award winner does ring of truth.  While the Award is meant to bring attention to someone who has made an impact in the areas of education, charity work, business, government, senior citizens, youth, disabled and environmental issues – and admittedly HP Daily Blog lacks a substantial resume on all fronts – HP Daily Blog could easily be the de facto winner UNLESS you nominate someone for the award.

To nominate someone, simply complete the application found at this LINK by February 12, 2010.  Any questions? Contact Gina Gooden at 847-926-1865.

HP Public Library Aims for Jock Hall

Friday, November 20th, 2009

The HP Public Library is partnering with the Firehouse to host a video game tourney on November 21st  at 10am (at the Firehouse).

Call us a purist, but isn’t the library trying a little too hard to be cool?  Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl doth not sound like Dewey Decimal Collider or Battle on the Encyclopedia Britannica.

What’s in your HP garage?

Friday, November 13th, 2009

The Wall Street Journal recently ran a story about a man who rebuilt a Pan Am first class cabin in his garage. Now of course, his effort was buoyed by the nice, cozy Redondo Beach winters.  If it weren’t for the HP winter, everyone here would consider the exact same thing.

Anyway, it does beg the question, “What’s in your hp garage?”  Are you a collector of Metra monthly passes?  Do you have the a mint condition set of the Park District of HP seasonal activity guides dating back to say…1992?

Now is your opportunity to shine.  Please let HP Daily Blog know.
