If you haven’t heard, digital photography is – like – totally catching on.  Well, The Art Center of HP is jumping onto the trend with a slight wrinkle.  TAC is incorporating going digital in their Ladies Night series…which basically incorporates eating, drinking and sisterhood into the mix.  Sounds like a great evening.

If you’re behind on making your photo albums, The Art Center at HP is about to help.  This Thursday, the TAC staff will assist you with photo assemblage and transfer.  It’s part of their monthly Ladies Night Out series.  So, if assembling photos while drinking and eating and cavorting with other ladies sounds appealing – and it should – then this event is a can’t miss.

Assuming that love really is the answer, you may enjoy making custom valentines and creative gifts this Thursday at HP’s The Art Center.  As booze and girlfriends are involved, it’s possible that the evening’s takeaways may be a tad bit too saucy for their intended parties. The Art Center of HP has some talent – not only amongst their members but also within their faculty.  From January 8th – January 28th, TAC gets to showcase all their homemade, in-house skills. 

The opening night reception for this annual event is Friday, January 8^th from 6:30PM – 9:00PM at 1957 Sheridan Road.   Items are for sale, but obviously no purchase is necessary.

Art is known to heal and HP’s own Caren Rudman will explore the Healing Power of Art on Thursday at The Art Center.  This event is no lecture, however.  It’s a hand’s on event – ladies only – that includes wine and food.

Are you ready for a fabulous night designing custom handbags and accessories?  For figures ranging up to $250, you can create and accessorize a purse.  It does sound fun, but at similar price points, you may consider getting a Prada clutch or anyone of these gourmet purses, and apply your savings to some Yummy Bowl instead. 

Thankfully, they’ll at least have sophisticated professionals on site to ensure your bag isn’t DOA ugly.

A BIG neighborly shout out to Highwood for just being plain adorable and pulling off a successful art fair.  Great live acoustical music performances, fun activities and lots o’ art.

If there was any swing and miss moment, it was when they ran out of hot chocolate.  Now granted it was gorgeous out and barely hinted at the Frigidaire to come, but People People People – clearly it was chilly enough to 1) serve hot cocoa and 2) for there to be a run on the ole cocoa exchange.  Why Poeta’s or the Fort Sheridan commissary or even the HP Public Library Keurig machine weren’t summoned for some Swiss Miss replenishments, we’ll never know. 

As a general rule, in these parts, a hot cocoa budget line-item isn’t the worst idea in the world.  And while you’re there, throw in some extra ’shmellows.
