HP HospitalOoops – not Summer camp – rather Boot Camp!  HP Hospital is showing new dads the ropes – diapering, feeding, pretending like you’re sleeping in the middle of the night.

So if you’re a dad-to-be, the event is on Sunday Feb. 20th from 10am – 12:30PM…But that you shouldn’t expect to get home until 8pm or so…

Baby-sitter? Get a Leg up on the Competition

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

HP HospitalHP Hospital is offering American Red Cross Baby-sitter training for 11-15 year olds.  We always thought that baby-sitting training involved figuring out how to use the remote control and determing where all the goodies were stored. But gone are the days when baby-sitting is … well sitting…Now, you’re expected to be pro-active, and in the baby-sitting world that means you have to know first aid and home safety.

Conveniently, this one-day baby-sitting training class will teach you everything you need to know about being a responsible sitter.

Saturday, January 23rd from 9:00AM – 5:00PM: HP Hospital (Meeting Room 1)

Metra Artists – Who’ll Bring Da Talent?…in 20 years.

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

While shuttling between the Braeside and HP train stations, we couldn’t help but notice a small, yet competitve rivalry breaking out amongst the monthly pass artists.  November pits 2nd grader Giovanny against October’s Shintaro – the 1st grader who’s got some serious non-straying power…Both Giovanny and Shintaro are clearly tremendous colorers, mostly staying within the lines but occasionally clipping them.  On first glance, the 1st grader appears to have received some performance enhancing assitance on stenciling, but maybe Shintaro is just that good.

And Giovanny really aced that red car – right down to the winter radials.  Even looks like he rotated them!

Impressive stuff…. Clearly these two both have a bright future – so long as they Play it Safe.

Home Sellers HATE Home Raters, Inc.

Monday, November 16th, 2009

If you’re looking to buy a home and need an advocate to protect your interests, Highwood-based Home Raters, helmed by Stuart Zwang, knows their stuff.

“We had three other inspections and nobody picked up on that.”  When the selling broker makes that comment, you know you’ve hired the right house inspector.

Hopefully they weren’t from the 200 pound traffic-light dangling directly overhead.
